Hannah recently received a letter from the Canadian National Conservatory of Music informing her she was the recipient of the Silver Medal for earning the highest mark in Canada for Grade Two Piano during the 2007-08 year. Her award will be presented on July 14, 2009 at the CNCM convocation in Palmerston, ON.
This is a very high achievement because she was the best in her level in all of Canada. We are very happy for her. Even though she is happy about it, too, she still does not want to continue piano at this time. Congratulations, Hannah, we are proud of you!

What an excellent accomplishment! (Was there a competition for this honor?) If music (and piano) is her special gift, maybe this is only a temporary break while she takes time to explore other interests...it's a lot of work to stay at the top of your talent! ~LuAnn
Congrats, Hannah! What an honor!

Way to go Hannah!!!! We are happy for you. What is your prize, money? Money, or an opportunity to play for something special? You may be tired of practicing now, but take a little break and keep it up. It will open doors for you if you are that good. Do you accompany in school for the music teacher, or other kids when they do contest stuff (if they do that up there)? Good picture, also.
