The "Barbie Girls" won the PPG Master's division at the regional level, so they were invited to participate in the next level (all Ontario) called zones. They faced several obstacles; Dixie getting injured and Leah having to use Blaze, two of their teammates were unable to attend, and playing with teammates they had only practiced with once. They all did great and came in third at the end of 16 games. They were very glad to be able to get two awesome riders from Caledon to join them on short notice, and Blaze did pretty good for his first PPG event (even though he did jump the mid-field line several times) Congrats, girls!

New Rider In The Family

Yesterday, Leah took Charlotte for a walk while she took Dixie for a slow ride down the bush lane. It was really hot and Charlotte was pretty tired, so Leah put her on Dixie. At first, she was tense and was ready to jump off. After a bit, she relaxed and started to lay down on Dixie's withers. I think she is hooked now!

Will 'O Wind Horse Trials

Just some more photos of Leah's latest eventing show in Orangeville. There was a lot of competition, but the pair did a great job. Aside from some detours driving there and Leah having to buy an new helmet (she forgot hers), the day went smoothly. So far, this has been an awesome training year for all of us.

Leah's 16th Birthday

July 9th was Leah's 16th birthday, but she was gone all day at a pony club event. So, she and her friend decided to celebrate their birthdays together with one party, since they have several mutual friends. Monday the 11th was the big day and they had a great evening. Lots of food, gifts, candy, fun, and. . .did I mention food? (note above chocolate fountain) Also,. . . they both got their driver's permits now, so heads up, everyone!

Day at the Beach

Sunday after church, we decided to head up Goderich to go to the beach. It was a perfect day for the trip since the weather was very hot and humid. Not all of us we able to go, but we had a great time anyways. Here are some pictures of us enjoying the sunset (and our ice cream cones!)

The Day After. . .

. . .the fire at our Mennonite neighbor's shop, the rebuilding has begun. Not only begun, it probably will be finished by the end of the weekend. Now that is good fire insurance!
